Like fingernails on a chalkboard I hate hearing the statement “I don’t want to start an argument, but….” Of course, you want to start an argument. They are qualifying their statement so it is harder for you to dispute. It is a very common defense and not a very effective one. I on the other hand love a good argument. No qualifying statements from me.
